About Me

I am a PhD researcher in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Windsor, specializing in urban hydrology, hydrological modelling, and sustainable stormwater management. My research focuses on understanding and modelling complex urban hydrological processes and developing data-driven and computational approaches for urban drainage, flood mitigation, and climate-resilient water infrastructure.

I completed my M.Tech in Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, where my research investigated cost-effective urban flood mitigation using Low Impact Development (LID) practices. My broader research experience encompasses hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, sediment transport, scour protection, riverbank stabilization, geosynthetics, and image-based river-flow measurement, integrating numerical simulation with field observations and real-world engineering applications.

My research has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and intellectual property in hydraulic and water-resources engineering, particularly in scour mitigation, sediment management, and riverbank protection. I also contribute to the research community as a journal peer reviewer and currently serve as Treasurer of the IAHR India Young Professionals Network.

My overarching research interest lies at the intersection of hydrology, hydraulics, computational modelling, optimization, and climate-resilient infrastructure, with the objective of translating rigorous scientific analysis into practical solutions for contemporary water-resources challenges.

Research Interests

My work focuses on stormwater management, flood mitigation, and hydraulic structures. Below are my key areas of research.

LID Stormwater Management

Investigating the feasibility and performance of Low Impact Development (LID) controls in clay soils for managing stormwater in linear infrastructure.

Sustainable Urban Flood Mitigation

Developing and comparing cost-effective solutions and performance metrics for LID-based practices in urban flood control.

Hydraulic Structures & Scour Protection

Designing and patenting novel solutions for riverbank protection and pier scour reduction, including geobags and spike mats.
